Which pets are allowed in Islam

Cats are welcome as pets in Islam. In fact, the army only changed course because of a cat during a war. On the other hand, dogs are not tolerated in Islam because of their cleanliness aspects. It is not allowed to pray in places where dogs are present. Birds and fish animals are acceptable.
